Yet another star of the screen has joined our gang and excitedly announced the birth of twins.

Former EastEnders star Ross Kemp announced the birth of twin girls Ava and Kitty yesterday, tweeting a gorgeous black and white photo of the newborns with their mum Renee.

The 53-year-old actor shared a shot of himself with famed gynaecologist Lawrence Impey just after he became a dad again for the third time.

Later, he followed it up with a picture of his wife, Renee O’Brien, beaming into the camera and cuddled up close to the swaddled baby girls.

The actor revealed their names in his tweet, saying “Mum, Ava and Kitty doing well! Dad overjoyed. Thanks to all at the hospital.”

Ross joins a long list of celebrities who have welcomed twins into the world this year. His fellow celebrity twin parents include Beyonce and Jay-Z, George and Amal Clooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Anton Du Beke, Lucy Prageter and Kieron Richardson.

Keith Reed, CEO of Twins Trust, said: "A huge congratulations to Ross and Renee on the birth of their twin girls.

"I'm sure Ava and Kitty will be absolute wonders and delights - having twins is truly an incredible, unique experience.

"As lots of our families say, twins are double the fun and double the love.

"We wish them all well in this exciting new chapter in their lives."
